This is the Humminbird cable for the video out on the units
VC 1 :: Humminbird
......but...
The cable is output to RCA audio/video male jacks...which work on a monitor but not on a laptop..because laptops don't have RCA input female jacks...that I know of...
I think I can make it work. The laptop is a HP Pavillion which came with an analog tv tuner card. The tuner card has a coax cable input so with a RF modulator I can go from a/v cables to coax and link the laptop to the Humminbird.
Here you can buy an adapter to go from RCA to usb.

I use Movie Maker. It don't like some of those cheap devices. Just saying.
It is a cheap device and I don't suggest anyone use it nor do i know if it would actually stream video like I plan to do. Just showing that a/v - usb adapters do exist and if a man wanted to bad enough he could make that route work. I plan to use my analog tuner which I know works. It'll be nice to go from an 8" diagonal display to a 17".
movie maker is good for software to record... you still need to convert the video out of the HB via a capture device (converts analog to digital)
I do this every day for werk (webcasting, live video capture for DVD, etc)
give this a try

Ok..now I'm more confused than normal....
Will any of these items you guys refer to allow live "streaming" of the HB video output to the laptop screen...?? (i.e. seeing the same live image on the HB as the laptop)

I bought one of these devices to use with a Sony camcorder when the firewire connection went out on the camera. Never worked for me. I use Ulead video studio and it does not see it. May work for you but would not on my computer (it has vista ultimate on it). Good luck.
