Saturday Morning
Man,
The water looked purfect this morning. There was not one ripple from the wind on the Arkansas River. Temp was about 50. The fish were hungry. Every once in a while, I could see a catfish or something else big rolling over. What a perfect day to be out on the water.....
:mad:Instead of on the dock wondering who else will not show up that I told to report to work today. :mad:We got 3 barges to unload before we can go home.:(
There were 10 veiwers on line when I logged on at 1 this afternoon. What is yall's excuse for not going fishing today???

Crappie had lock jaw for us on Brewer. Surface temp was 62 and wind wasnt bad. 2 crappie, 7 littel dink bass and a half dozen bream was it. Pitifully below what I was expecting.
Tryin to decide whether or not to hit little maumelle this afternoon late.

went to mallard this morning and wind got up about 10, caught one crappie, didn't see anyone else catching any thing
-
Went to Conway today caught several crappie in the trees around round pond on the upper end towarxd caney, yoyo fishermen were having better luck but the bite stopped around 10am only caught yellow bass after that
-
Hit little maumelle this pm and did even worse. One crappie in the boat and one got off at the boat. Nobody I talked to had anything good to say. Got semi-checked at the ramp puttin in by USCG and they said they had not heard any good reports all day. Said they had been doing checks all day there.

Blue Mtn yesterday not 1 crappie! Caught 34 over there Monday!? Had to work today also.

We went and till noon it was perfect. That's when the wind picked up, but by then we were limited out. Everyone we talked to said fishing was bad slow? When you gonna visit and help land a few DP ?

What did you catch 'em on?

Conway was slow for me yesterday. I caught some kinda of 10ish pound carp on my purty girly rods... he hit on a cute lil white/chartreuse tail umbrella jig i had dragging in the water.
I caught one lil breem on a minner.. he had a muddy tail and was in very shallow water.
I also caught one little male crappie. He was all by himself up in the shallows by the old docks at Brannon Landing. I think he was just waiting for the party to get started or maybe he just got there late? He was about 9 inches so I tossed him back. Not even a good poboy on that one. Grrr.
The wind did play havoc with me a bit, but it was a beautiful day on the lake. I got to steal an old reel from Dano for 10 bucks (cleaned it up, works quite well).
Yup, I got some sun, caught some fesh and cussed the Crappie gods. It was a good day.:D

Took all weekend but finally caught a mess this afternoon late. Church this morning, yard work until 3 and then hit Palarm Creek. Caught a half dozen not much size to 'em but they will make a nice mess for me and the wife.
Tough fishin this weekend.
Blue/char and white/char was the, ummm, winning combinations if you want to call our measly creel winning.;)
