Here is what I am going to be catching my big boys on this year. 1/16 and 1/8 oz cast with Do-It crappie spinner bait mold. Used rabbit on some , marabou on some and lots of rubber legs. Size 2 Indiana and Colorado blades. Did really well on these many years ago. The guy that used to pour the heads for me died many years ago.

I don't know how long Do-It has been making this particular mold but I sure wish I knew about it sooner. I have been doing without these for about 20 years. The really big crappie love these things unfortunately the green carp also jump on them.

These normally work best right after spawn. In ponds with big crappie they are absolute killers. I normally like to slow troll with EM through a stumpfield with these on lakes.

Only difference in the old days I stuck a plastic tail on them . I think with the ties they will work even better.

I think your right. let see some pics when you kill the crappie with them :)

I have been looking at that same mold for months now.Put it in the cart,take it out,lol.I love them Hays.Glad to see what one of the Do It crappie spinnerbait mold heads look like.Next time it stays in the cart,They all look good.What size hooks?The size 1 and 4 ?No recessed eyes,Right ??

do you use a lee pot to pour those and if so does it fit under it with the wires and how the heck do you powder paint something like that lol

Lee Pot to pour plenty of clearance , no recessed eyes using flat eyes then sealing over. Wire bender and fine needlenose are essential.

None for sale too big of a headache to make. I am spray painting with powder paint. Kinda neat as paint doesn't stick to wire just the lead head.

AZSLABBER - go ahead and get mold. Barlows 29.15 I think.

Hint : for anybody that wants to make these. Do not put blade or split ring or swivel on until everything else is done. Especially the tying portion. The thread from the bobbin has an uncanny ability to get itself stuck in the split ring.

Very nice! I have also always used plastic trailers in the past, but made up a few from old spinners over the winter. Tied most with rabbit, thinking it should flap pretty well. Really like your chart ones... good luck keeping the greenies off them. :)

I have both the molds for the spinnerbaits and buzz baits, however I find it's much easier to order the forms already made and put my blades and tails on.
I use mostly the 3/8oz to fish with. I do slam the smallies and large mouths
with them, but have never caught a Crappie on them....probably because I use the big size. Good lookin spinnerbaits Hays!
