I have had to keep moving during bright daylight hours. Pick up one here and there. But before dark, say around 5:30pm up to sundown, the bite really picks up. I believe even with the rains the water is still pretty clear for the shallower crappie to be active. But when heavy cloudcover exists or once the angle of the sun eases light penetration into the cover, they come out and are HUNGRY! I use sidescan as do many and have notice that during bright light the crappie can be seen deep in the stakes and brush. When the light decreases you can see them move to the edge of cover and eventually out away from it several feet. Pretty cool! :)
