Do any of you save your oil for frying again later? If so, how times do you recycle it?
I always recycle my peanut oil. Let it cool then strain it through 2 layers of cheesecloth. My dad uses automotive paint filters.
... since alot of fish may have contaminants that fry out of the meat/fat. Straining will not remove these :o
Straining will only remove the "crisps".
Best case scenario is to use only the amount of fresh oil necessary for the job at hand, and dispose of it in the legal & correct manner ... for each cooking occurrance.
Proper cleaning techniques, & utilizing fish that are not contaminated or are the least contaminated ... and following the consumption guidelines for the waters where the fish were taken from ... is also a step in the right direction.

My wife filters ours and saves it to reuse.
I ve been re-using oil for half a century and i havent turned green yet!
I filter it and freeze it. Can't say how many times to use it, I guess maybe 3-4 times. Restaurants use their oil way longer than we would.
