Motorguide problems
I may have figured this out but not sure how to fix. I think it is wired backwards. I saw another thread it said the prop should run counter clock wise looking at the front of the prop. Mine runs clock wise. So the motor is pulling instead of pushing. I know how to rewire plug. By the way I just bought this boat a few months ago I didn't wire it or install it. Next what position is the motor pointed in when the pedal is all the way down in the back. In other words where is the prop pointing. Also if it's not pointing right how do you adjust it. I think this will fix all the problems with the flip flopping I have been having. Thanks for the help Cub48

I may be wrong, but I dont think that is your problem.I think the motor is designed to be run in forward position and the motor head goes through the water before the prop does and that is correct. My motorguide if left on a high speed will spin one way or the other. I think it has more to do with the high torque created by the 3 blades and the weight of my boat is heavy and so its strained some.Have seen some guys make angled blocks for the pedal to keep it forward.I liked what someone said on the other thread about the pipe clamps.I think I will try that on mine.Sometimes I want to set forward at a slow speed and walk around the boat.As of now, I cant do that much without it easing around as I tilt the boat walking in it.

I rewired it yesterday it was running backwards. the prop was running first not the motor. I checked it with another boat. I think it will steer better as the way it was you would have to put both feet on the pedal to go straight. We will see saturday if the weather is ok. Thanks Cub48

flip flop
Hey guys,
I had the same problem that you guys describe.
The pipe clamp works.
I can set my motor in a line or position and it will not move until I make it move with the foot control..
I took a picture but could not load it as it was too big to be uploaded.
If you would like send me an email and I will send it to you.
