Hitch-Haul Carrier - Bumper Buddy???

Has anyone ever used one of those 20" x 60" haulers that slides into a 2" hitch receiver on the back of your pickup?

Did or do you like it?

What I am wanting to do is put a hitch on the back of the RV trailer. And put my 5500 watt generator on it. Mostly for the times that I am maybe parked at night traveling at some Wal-Mart parking lot. Or maybe at some fireworks tent location before the power is hooked up. Granted the RV runs off of a good 12 volt battery but it would be nice to run the microwave to heat up some water for a cup of coffee. OK I ADMIT IT I AM A MALE AND I DON'T LIKE USING ANYTHING BUT THE MICROWAVE. BECAUSE IF I USE THE STOVE I HAVE TO DO DISHES!

My neighbor gave me a receiver hitch for the RV so all I have to do is have it welded on the RV and purchase a carrier.

Any ideas?

Yes I have one for my Jeep Wrangler and love it, I haul deer, turkeys,fish guts and firewood on it. I bought mine at Wal-Mart for around fifty bucks. It was money well spent.

everyone that I have talked to love them, just make sure the one that you get is rated to handle the weight of your generator.

Yeah that is what I am concerned about. Especailly with it only being about 5 foot wide and the RV being about 8 foot wide. And I sure want to tell you hitting those ruff bumps in the road on I-55 heading down towards Richland, Mississippi at about 75 mph I was lucky to have anything left inside the RV last winter! I can just see a generator flying off a lite hitch carrier.

It has a 500 hundred pound weight cap., I bet it will hold more than that.

I have had one for several years. I think it is great. We mostly use it for tailgating at football games, but I have hauled powersprayers, firewood, and other fairly heavy loads. Mine has a mesh bottom which is great for what I use it for. I have seen some with solid bottoms.

You won't need one with tail lights because of the width of the RV. I have also seen one that was designed to "fold up" on a pin/hinge when not loaded. That would be handy, but maybe not necessary.

Whatever you go with, make sure you have sufficient weight load. Good luck.

Well I could put it in the bed of the pickup. I just hate lifting the darned thing in there, F-250! And my thing is having it in the back end of the pickup hauling it around all the time when if it was on the back of the RV I would never have to move it. Unless I have to take it up to repair something at the farms. Normally at a fireworks store location I roll in drop the trailer spend a few days and then I always need the bed of the pickup to haul something in. I looked at those fold ups, would be nice if I needed it on wifes Explorier. And if I need to haul something I have a nice little 6 x 12 enclosed trailer or a 8 x 20 gooseneck flatbed with a 5 foot dove tail. Only thing I want this thing for is to be able to have power on the RV when I am not close to any power and just short periods of time.
