On the sonar menu under beam select it has 3 selections 200/83 200 83khz Which one do you reccomend. Also the RTS window should it be narrow or wide. One more question TRANSDUCER SELECT what should that be set on. When they say QUADRA BEAM PLUS transducer is that what comes with the unit.? Thanks hope someone can help?

I personally like 200/83 narrow on RTS and set it to Hi def side scan, thats the standard on 997

I use the wider 83hz beam in shallow water. If I''m fish'n water over 25' I'll sometime change over to the narrow 200hz beam. The wider beam helps you locate the brush easier in shallow water. I turn the RTS window off and select the Hi Def Side Scan.
Try 'em out and find out. Don't cost nuthin'. :)

CANE POLE whar are you talking about what do you mean by scope
"A Scope" Wilbur. Its what most other companies would call a vertical representation of what is exactely under the transducer. Sort of like a color flasher with the reading straightened out vertically.
RTS Window set to narrow uses colors to represent returned sonar signal strength:
