Triton Boats
i looked at the Triton boats today in Perry. Anyone using one? Whats the likes/dislikes?? I looked at the TC17. I currently have a Grumman 1649SS and the quarters get kind of tight with me and my son in it fishing together. One thing i did like was it seemed nice and wide on the fwd and aft decks. It even had a spot for two seats up front for side/side fishing. Just looking for an honest opinion of them.

I have the TS18 with a 60 hp Etech and LOVE IT. The boat is even wider than the crappie model and has a live-well up front (small) and one in the back (large). I got mine from The Sports Center also. Talk with Scott James and tell him Dan Sidle recommended him. No complaints on the boat except wishing I had the 90 just for more speed. The 60 does fine and is great on gas/oil consumption. It runs 30-32 mph with both kids, the wife, myself, gear, full tank of fuel, and both live-wells full. Plenty fast enough, but still would like to run a little faster especially when trying to get in before a thunderstorm rolls through. Minn Kota V2 PD with AP/US2 55lbs thrust 48" shaft is plenty for this boat too. I have even had mine on the flats out of Keaton Beach, FL and run 30+ miles up and down the coast chasing sea trout and redfish with no problems there either. Wash it down REALLY good, flush the motor, and spray all the electrical connections with WD40. I do recommend getting the galvanized trailer. Good luck.

Last year, I had to be talked into the Etech 60.
And I'm very glad the salesman was persistent...
This is Etech 60 is a FANTASTIC boat motor!

I have a 173 sport with a 50 merc and I love it. There is plenty of room. Like Dan said just wish I had a larger motor.
