anyone ever make any with a size 6 hook? if so how do they work??
Hook is a bit on the small side, but I do know a guide here on this lake that fishes almost only brush piles and he likes that size hook on a 1/8 oz head. He says he loses less jigs like that or should I say his customers loose less that way.
I still have a pretty good many and I guess he's the only one I make some for time to time. I get no other request for that combo size.
All of them are regular bend I think and if you used Sickle they would have a bigger gap, but also the hook is shorter so you may run out of room between the hook point and the head. At lease with the regular bend the hook point is a bit farther away.

i seen that also im trying to use a 4...bought some 4 and 6 sickle hooks to pour some also... been making 1/16 6 and 4 i love the 1/16-6 though. the reason for the 1/8-4 is that i got some hybrid strippers i like to catch..and the drill bit eyes, i did a search on it but couldnt find anything. could you repost how you do it skip
Hey just get your self a cheap set of drill bits and make sure the butt end is flat and not cupped. Depending on the size of the head just pick one about half the size of the other to make the pupil. Just pick what ever color you want first and apply it with the drill bit and after that dries just do the same thing for the pupil with one half the size of the other one.
I use #4 Sickles on almost all the size jig heads I keep in stock. I even have some 1/64 with #6 & #4 Sickles in them. I use #4 in the 1/8 I fish with for sure.

i mainly bought the stuff for myself but now i think im going to put them on my site and sell them...i like anything to do with fishing...even dabbling in musky lures....
the 1/8-6 looks tuff. i fish some fast water some times, in the rivers its exactly what i was wanting...
I havent made any yet but i prefer smaller hooks because at time i prefer smaller bodies and i want them to match. I made a few molds to accept smaller hooks. Skin hooking is the only problem with the occasional bass or catfish and that with smaller 10 hooks. I ordered some sickle 10 jigs hooks to hopefully help with that. #6 should be fine.
10 sickles are killer for steelheads and rainbows... i order 2-4-6-8- today may have to order some 10 for next yrs trout season. in 2 days i bet i pourd 1500 heads lol, from 1/32 to 1/4
