Took my new fish finder on it's maiden voyage yesterday. It's really cool but I had trouble navigating back to my waypoints. Every time I would try to go back to a waypoint I would get to 145 ft. away and the arrival alarm would sound and it would stop navigating. Is there some setting that I need to change or am I doing something wrong? Also, when navigating to a waypoint there is an arrow but it seems to be pointing toward the boat. What am I missing here?
T, I am following your question, as I am planning to add ad 998 very soon.
What the arrow is telling you is that you passed the waypoint that you are navigating to. When in gps mode the arrow normally shows you the direction that the boat is heading. In navigation, it is showing you which direction you should be heading to get to destination. If the arrow is pointed toward the boat then you past your destination.
In the respects, of the alarm, there is an arrival alarm distance adjuster in the alarms menu. I believe it goes from 0-3000 ft. Hope this helps.

That's exactly what I'v been told from someone else. The factory setting must be 150ft. I was told to turn off the arrival alarm and it will put you on top of the waypoint.
