Allatoona Lake
There is a great article in the March issue of the Georgia Outdoor News (GOW).
It features the Allatoona Crappie King with a couple of nice pictures and some good fishing tips. He was the guide that I used the very first time that I crappie fished. He is very knowledgeable and a great guy. He is willing to help anyone out and sure knows how to fish the lake.

Good to hear from you Chief I thought you were lost.
That Stewart is becoming a real celebrity, but he is a fish catching son of a gun.
I fished Little River last Sunday for a couple of hours and did pretty well. I went back that Monday in the rain and caught one crappie. I may try them again Monday, before I get snowed in again Tuesday

I fished Sat. at Kelloog creek and did not do any thing went down lake and water got colder only found 45 degrees back in coves. Winds had it white capping on main lake. I did see Stewart pulling another boat down lake in the afternoon must had boat trouble.

would be nice to get out I would go to Owl creek and if the winds wern't over 10 -15 would get a limit each day or move on up on the flats in the Etowah or Little River rose ck. or in the cherokee park area from sweetwater on up all the creeks up there are good. You guys better get them while I'm taking care of the love of my life because when she is able for me to leave I'm gonna get my share then.

Valentines Day report from Kellog Creek -
Put in at Kellogg - 2 weeks prior to valentines - I had caught small/med ones at the first island hump on the right just out from under the bridge. Valentines I did not get a bite but marked bait on the h-bird.
Moved on to the mouth of Owl Creek and made my way down the right hand side picking up a couple of small fish. A guy in Carolina Skiff was anchored on the left hand side headed into Owl creek and in a few he begun trolling. I made my way to that side and he said he had caught 17. I fished that side and guess caught about 12 bringing 7 home. The best part was I had 5 that were the biggest of my life. These were just plain old big slabs. Not real fat but wide, long and healthy. Three were big males and 2 females with some eggs but not loaded up. Sorry I don’t have pictures or even taken time to weigh the best 5 but it was late cold and dark when I got to cleaning them.
The bait that was the color of choice was a curly tail grub in what I think they call Hornet. It has a chartuse tail and belly with a john deer green back. It was what they wanted and only that for me. I didn’t stop and pick up any minnows not thinking I had enough time to use them but I think it would have helped.
The water depth were I caught them was 16 to 22 feet and temp 42. Out at the mouth it dropped off to 25+ feet. Out in the deeper water I got into those White Bass so I guess the bait was there also.
Saturday 27th I put in at Little River and man was it windy. Only caught 2 keepers but I think it was cuase I couldn't keep bait at the right depth. The wind was rough.
Sunday 28th I put in at Kellog Creek and fished Owl Creek. Not a single fish. None. Wind was not as bad but not good either. I'm still thinking a couple more weeks to get some of the cold weather behind us and it will be good.
So glad your father is doing better.
