New to HB first SI photos

Hello all, first I have never used a humminbird unit before I recently crossed over to the other side by purchasing a 797. I got it on the water for the first time the other day. After pushing many buttons I finally figured out how to take snapshots. I also noticed the bottom fading out on my unit. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I need help with interpreting these snapshots and recommending a starting point with my settings.

Speed up to around 5 mph. At the speeds above you are stretching and distorting what you see.
Turn sharpness on and increase sensitivity about 2 clicks.
Take more pics after those adjustments and let's see what you have.

Welcome to the madness tr.

It would be great if you could post a shot of your transducer installation. I would like to see a eye line shot and a shot from the back of your transom.

well on thing I can let you know is that you found a hell of a bunch of fish in your second to last picture. Also you have one of the most perfect examples of fish around bait balls in the shot that reads 15.5 and 9.7 feet deep. Looks like a darn good lake if you ask me!!! Where you at?? Definetly a good example of fish relating to bait in those shots!!! You may already know that but Im not for sure just how much you know about your graph. Good luck!

You speed is fine You may need to adjust chart speed. You can get a good picture at
1 mph. You need to adjust your contrast and sharpness down not up. Sharpness looks very high.
