Terrova US2
Hey Guys,
I have a terrova with universal sonar. The depthfinder I have is a LMS 522cigps. I bought the connector for the us2 and depthfinder. Took it to the lake yesterday hooked it up and nothing. Is there something else you have to do to the trolling motor or depthfinder. I am clueless so any help would be appreciated. I was using the trolling motor so I know the battery is good, but it was like the depthfinder was not getting any power.

How do you have your power cable for the fishfinder hooked up ? If all you did was install the adaptor cable it would have no power. That adapter only hooks up the transducer.
Not trying to be funny but you did state you were clueless. From what I seen helping my friends and relatives with their trailer wiring and fishfinder/gps wiring and set-ups . Nothing is impossible.

When powered up the transducer will emit "pulses". You can feel them and hear them if you are (very) close to the transducer. I have the us2 on my minnkota and can feel and hear the ducer working. As stated by Hays...make sure you have power. If power is not the problem then I would suggest you have a faulty transducer.

if you have power but no reading from the transducer there is another connection in side the TM head. it looks just like the adaptor connection. they could have forgot to connect in assembly.

I think my problem is that I don't have power to the unit  When I said I am clueless, I am really clueless when it comes to electronics. So do I need to buy another adaptar cable for the power? I have my unit on a pontoon, so all I have is the trolling motor and a battery on the front. Do I just buy another power cable for the depthfinder? Thanks for all your help. :)

Hollidas- There should be connectors on the back of your unit. One is for the transducer that is embedded in the electric motor. The power connection is the one next to the transducer connector.
If you are looking at the rear of your unit the power connector is the second one in on your left side. It is a multipin but you should only be concerned with the group of wires that contain a red wire /white wire and a black wire.
When you get your connector power cable fold the white wire over and electric tape over the end. Run the red wire to the positive side of your battery ( place a 3 amp fuse in between battery and your unit. )Run the black wire to the negative side of your battery.

Thanks for all the help. Once I get the power cable I should be good to go. Thanks again.

Also, If I remember correctly according to Instructions you do not hook the sonar power cable to the trolling motor battery but to the cranking battery.
