Nail polish cure?
Needing some help, I've been having trouble with nail polish not wanting to set up. I've tried baking it on low in the oven but some times it bubbles up other times not. Its realy been a hit and miss so far. I've had to let most of the jig heads set out in room temp. for days to get it to set up hard. I'm using a clear nail polish to clear coat everything when done. Any who I need some professional advise on it.
Oh and I have a Griffin Odyssey Spider vise on order from Ziener's Bass Pro, should be here thursday. Can't wait to tye up something special with it:D. Hope it beats the tar out of my 14 buck vise I have been using for 3yrs.

150*F for 30 minutes in the toaster oven... use an oven thermometer!

Thank you guys, I'll have to find a used toaster oven at a garage sale when it warms up.

GCD - You "bake" it???????? I tried the space heater thing once... seemed to take longer to set and spread the nasty smell around even worse.:(
In my personal experience with nail polish (again, never thought I would say that :D) it all depends on the brand you use and how thick of a coat you put on. The thicker the coat, longer the dry time. I have some I know I can finish them faster if I use 2 thin coats than try to slop it on in 1 coat. Also, the stuff that sez it dries in 60 seconds, does not dry that fast. ;)

Yea I usaly go with thin coats, Nail polish is totally different then anything in the aircraft or automotive world that I've worked with.

Dont you just love the looks you get when you are on the nail aisle with two handfuls of n.p.!

I would just try different brands. Look at the consistency of the clear coat. Mine is a little thinner than some, but 2 light coats work well, and it cures fairly quick, with no baking or heat.
