HB 580 software question

Can the software on a HB 580 be updated using the humminbird pc program?

Don't know for sure, but if you go to the humminbird site and register your unit, it will list any updates that are available for it.

I have a couple of elderly friends that never used a GPS system. The wanted something in this price range & I helped them get them & set them up. They really like the units and they have increased their fishing success. I have all my "upgradeable" units registered & check for updates all the time. I'm just not sure if you can upgrade the software on a 580. If you can I would like to do that for them.

Not sure about the FF580 Wiskers. I know that there has been some discussion on adding the newer 500 series units to the web site and supporting software upgrades for them but not sure if this has or will be done or if they will include the older units or not. I would try registering one of the units on the Humminbird web site and see if you can do so. You could also call Humminbird Customer Resource folks at 1-800-633-1468 and ask them as well.

I have a 587 and there is an upgrade available for it. Just register it with HB and it will let you know.
