? for RNVINC or CANE POLE

I am mounting my transducer on a 1in. square tube. Do you think it would heart to leave the square tube an 1in. below the transducer incase you hit something. Just want to protect the transducer.It would sticking down in front of trans. Your opinoins appreciated. Will post pics when done.

I wouldn't. Pipe will probably cause water turbulence. Mount it so the bottom of the transducer is below the back of the pole. Adjust (up or down) from this position for clarity.
