Weed guard

Tried this for a friend that bass fishes ? wanted some bass jigs so i tried these? And put on one weed guard? 30# mono, don"t know if it will work or not,never tried it before, do you guys ever put guards on any of yours ??

Heres a couple jig heads with guards. The top jig is a V shaped guard and the bottom is just a single wire guard.

Yote, look at how a popper bug for fly fishing is done. I think you could adapt that to work on a jig without too much trouble. Tied to the beginning of the bend of the hook, then brought around in a loop that covers the hook, and finished around the eye or front of the tie. Just some input.
