Nice system!
looks like it would work
slick
Thank you for bring that to my attention. Calling them Monday to see if 2 of them side by side would be strong enough to support a 28lb. 2hp kicker motor for my pontoon. Sure would be a slick quick detach.
Another idea for mounting a sodium light. Thx.:)
Thanks to all for the comments. This is a new product and I welcome any feedback and constructive criticism.
boatstall: I sold one on Monday at the Miami Boat show to a sailboater who is going to put a 5hp motor on it. He said it was only for emergency use but the V-Lock in that location might be useful for other applications. He is bolting it through and using a backing plate so it should be fine.
One key recommendation I have (and I need to add to the website) is that if you are using an application that causes a lot of vibration, take the spring loaded pull pin out and get a 3/8-16 threaded hex cap screw (at most any hardware store) so you can really get it in tight. Also you need to first bolt a wider and thicker block of wood or starboard to the insert to accommodate the motor.
The pull pin is good for most applications to keep stuff from popping out (and losing them in the water), but is not meant for securing something like a motor.
