OT: Bass Kreature

Tried tying my first jig with a silicone skirt. Had to abandon my first attempt due to thread slipping on the jig collar. Taught myself quite a few lessons by the time I finished this one.

Materials:

• One-eighth of an ounce football head with a #1 or 1/0 sickle hook.
• Craft fur - sage color.
• Chenille - sage green color.
• Green with black bar silicone skirt.
• Lime-colored embroidery thread - trilobal polyester (40-wt.)
• Celery green acrylic paint.
• Two-part epoxy for clearcoat.

Looks good, but I can see why you may have had one or two attempts before you got what you wanted. Bet bass will love it especially around grass.

It looks good,curious how it moves in the water. If it's black nickle it's probably a 1/0.Those football heads balance really well. It should catch some smallies.

Killer tie! Those will get some bass for sure.

Whenever I try silicone, I always seem to wrap too tight and end up cutting the pieces off.

I want those for when I'm red fishing with my fly rod, but with a saltwater hook, that would work fantastic,,,great job.

A tip? Hmmm...

Be careful to work slowly and deliberately when whip finishing a jig like this by hand. Particularly if you want to hide your thread beneath the chenille behind the jig head.
