I have 15 x 48 War Eagle with drop deck and I'd appreciate any ideas and suggestions to turn it into a crappie fishing boat.
Spider rigging setup is what I'm trying to accomplish, so any ideas about rods brand, length (10' or 12' or 14'), rod holders, reels etc.
BTW, I'm new to Crappie fishing and fishing in general. Any input will be appreciated.
charmer, you might want to ask that over on the tenn board. they do a lot of that kind of fishing over on reelfoot lake. don't know how they take to ossers though.

I hear good things about the hi-tec rod holders. I will have a set when this darn economy gives me a break. You can check them out on their website.
i would stick with the better rod holders if i were you...you get what you pay for...tite-lok are good for a gunwale mount...driftmaster and hi-tec are good for a t-bar or rail mount...i prefer the B n M poles and it's a good idea to get the pro staff trolling rod if you purchase anything over 12'...the buck's get a little too limber after that
hey charmer! if i were serious at all i would have to go with hi-tec, they cant be beat. i like the bass pro signature series 14' they're light and easy to handle, and the pro staff in a 16' or capps and coleman 16'.

Bass pro signature series 14' have a rather poor review. Are we talking about the same rod.

Could you post a link to B n M spider rigging poles as an example.
I'm thinking about going with a total of 4, 12' or 14' rods. Does anyone have a compelling argument why I should or shouldn't?
check out grizzlyjig.com they have rod holders, rods, baits and everything you need to crappie fish at great prices.
If you got more time than money and kindy handy at building stuff. Try making your own pole holders from pvc pipe.;)

I'm kindda sold on this CAPPS & COLEMAN TROLLING POLE ROD 16' . They come in 3 sections. I understand they flex better windy conditions and a longer rod is better especially in shallow or clear waters. So rods alone will cost me $185 shipping included if I was to order them from the ebay link.
I'm planning to do most of my fishing in Greers Ferry Lake around Choctaw and occasionally Lake Conway, Overcup.
