My first jigs....
Yet another "my first jigs" thread...but since I received all my stuff yesterday to finally get to tying jigs, I decided to give it a shot. These are my first two. I'm not happy with the "bumble bee" jig, I'm thinking the body needs to be a little thicker???

They look good and I agree, the head makes the BBee look a little small bodied. Nice job regardless.

Sometime you have to double wrap chenille to make it thicker for the jig you are tying. Especially if you say are using #2 and tying a 1/8 oz. jig. I would try double wrapping it. When you get it done to where you are now, just pinch it off with the thread and don't finish yet. Then just like you started the first wrap do it again and when back at the head you can finish it.
Hope that is clear,

I forgot to mention these are 1/32oz heads. Thanks for the tip, I'm going back now to double wrap.

Do your jigs come with a collar??? if they do and you cut it off try leaving it on an that will bulk up you body. If their bare hook like everyone said double wrap the chenille.

Those are great tips for you. Congrats on your first tied jigs. They are better than most I have seen on a first tie effort.
