hb 997 question
got a few questions about my 997. Im for being on the water just a handful of times im getting along with everything pretty well but Ill tell ya,,,, Im having a hell of a time with one thing. When I am looking at side imaging and see something I want to take a little better look at, I curser over and mark a waypoint................. After that, all I want to do is bring up a map with the waypoint on it and run directly over it with down imaging and 2d but Im not having much luck. I bring up the map and try to Zoom in as far as possible on the waypoint so I can run directly over the point............... Not only will it not zoom in very far but the when I try to zoom in it will lock up the graph completely.............. The only thing I can do from there is repower and start all over. I also would like to know how close you should be able to zoom in??? I aint gonna kid around, the gps is not only confusing but the grid flashing in and out is horrible. I would love to just have it look just like my h20 handheld I have. that thing is simple! Any help would be awesome!!!! Thanks..............Robin.

What software version is in your unit, that can have a lot to do with it?

1 Attachment(s)
One other thing besides the software is how it is rigged. Software will make a big difference now. With the software upgrade the gps is 4 times faster than what it was before. Are you running Interlink or do you have the gps antenna plugged directly into the back of the unit. If the gps antenna is plugged directly into the back of the unit you will be fine with the software update. If you are running the interlink, you will need rig your boat the same as the diagram to get the 4 times faster gps on both units.

Make sure your "Continuous Navigation Mode" is set to "ON" under your NAV tab in your menu system.....
This defaults to "Off"...and you must turn it "ON".....
If the unit is set to "Off"...once you reach your waypoint...your unit clears that waypoint from the "Goto" function.....
