I've been wanting to try and add some glitter with powder paint. Is there a good rule of thumb for the ratio of glitter to powder? or is it just trial and error... Do I need to use a clear coat to finish? Thanks for all the advice...I try and read (and learn) on here as much as I can...

Only thing Im doing different is lots of clear powder paint.around a 10-1 ratio seems to be about right.Not making any big batches,Im using 2 tsp of clear to 1/8 tsp of color and 1/8 tsp of glitter.Ive had better luck using multiple colors of glitter ,but a single color will work.
Ordered some glitter online,but found a good selection at hobby lobby that works great at a fraction of the cost... the 1/128 th seemed to be just right size.. Good Luck Roger
this is what I do when I use glitter with power paint. I put the jig and clear coat then I put it in glitter and then back into critical simple as that. We get craft glitter it is a little bit bigger and of course nice and shiny. And you could buy in many different colors.
I like the powder paints that already have the glitter mixed in, like Ruby Slipper (red), Sapphire (blue), Water Melon Ice, Copperhead, Red Bug, June Bug, and Dragonfly.
They're mixed in the right proportions and the glitter is the best size for the paint... you can also get some unique colors by layering these over other colors!
