what kind of feathers are being used for tails on skips and CD's jigs?
I see dyed guinea feathers, saddle hackle, golden pheasant crest, and I may be wrong but the one's on the right sure do look like barred wood duck feathers that have been dyed???

no no do a search on crappie dale and look at his jigs. there a feather not a marabou feather. i was wonder what kind. is it a hackle feather?
If you are talking about my regular jigs I use strung Neck Hackle. I use the larger ones and pay more for them, but you can also get more colors in the 3"-5" Neck Hackle, I like the 4"-6" best or what they call Sale Water neck Hackle.
Crappie Dale uses the neck hackle as almost all jig tiers use. I would say no including hair jigs that probably 90% of teh jigs tied use either marabou or Neck Hackle. Saddle Hackle is more for neck collars and palmered hackle.
