I don't think you can upload them, however you can download a emulator from the Eagle/Lowrance site and place them in the computer and view info. that way. At least you used to be able to.
Yes if you try to transfer the files on the card to your cpu it will corrupt them and kill the card, it will then be useless except for memory..... no maps
