Jig Color Chart?

I was wonderin if anyone out there has a chart that has color setups for jigs? Like what colors for the head match up well w/ this Chenille and marbou? I was told by someone that they were goin to send me some samples of their Chenille that they had order plus a color chart w/ a few sample jigs, and I'm still standin at my mailbox waitin, but not really holdin my breath......just disappointted that a follow fisherman on CC would treat others on here that same way. Again just lookin for a color chart!!

Have a feeling I know who you are talking about, sad that someone says they will do something for you but do not come through. If he had a color chart, chances are he made it up himself. There is no right or wrong way to do it, if it catches fish, you did it right..... for that day anyway.


As far as colors, what kind of water are you fishing.... clear, stained, muddy? Would help with some more info. Most chenille is pretty cheap for just 1 card, I end up buying 1 card of several different colors that I think might work and wait and see what the fish think.

Look through the Jig Pictures sticky thread at the top, many have the materials they used to make them. My favorites are pretty simple for clear water mostly.....
Silver Head/Silver Tinsel Chenille/Dun (gray) Marabou
Silver Head/White Chenille/White Marabou
Black Head/Gray Chenille/White Marabou

Twisting together 2 colors of chenille works good to make your own mix of colors. I mix White/Silver Tinsel alot for crappie and Tobacco Brown/Black alot for smallmouth. Posibilities are endless, just mix away. :) Sorry for rambling.....

I like to look at things that the fish are actually eating.Here in Arizona it's mostly shad and crawfish,They are the colors I do.I've never seen anything pink around here but,they work as well,lol.Who knows what will work until you try it,I guess.

when it comes to colors on jigs we never have used color charts. Personally I make a jigs to match whatever the fish are feeding on. But for other matters at hand we make up lots of different colors because they look good and they do catch other things besides fish.?:like it was said above if you are catching fish on your jigs you are doing something right.

Thanks guys...I was just curious as to how some of ya'll decide to make some of the color setups they all look so great, and sometimes I just come up w/ stuff and I'm like not sure if it will catch a fish but sure looks cool w/ the colors.....thanks and ya I have placed two orders w/ Flatfish46 in the last two months.

allso something about the diff color combo's is they dont allways look the same in the water even in clear water the deeper they go they will change color to the fishes eyes

as for a chart well i dont think there is one i havent ever even heard of one the fun part about tieing jigs is comin up with combo's that work for you i have a friend who loves greens and browns where i use more char and yellows we both do well fishing so i guess we makein jigs for ourself not fish lol

Man I just look at what I have that I think looks good with other colors and tie them. No chart and don't want one. Want my own creativeness to come out with what I tie.
