Remove the battery, attach bamboo with zip ties, fill the battery compartment with rocks and chunk it overboard on your next trip out. Be sure to send me coordinates.

PS, be sure to detach the network cable before you chuck it over otherwise everyone will be catching your fish.
On second thought.....You screen may be toast, but it may be possible since it's powering up to output to a monitor and assuming it's still operating, you might could see to back up and retrieve your files etc.
Good luck. Dang computers are rurnin' this world one hard drive failure at a time.

Cut the power pull the battery. Pull the keyboard off and check under not sure if you are comfortable with this step. Now pack it in dry rice for at least 12 hours.
When done with this and you know completely dry turn back on. If monitor still black but you have power connect external monitor and diagnose from there.
thanks guys, took it to a guy here in Florida nad he said should be no problem. Going to call me back shortly with the scoop but said he hoped to fix it for $50-$60.
I sho hope so b/c I cant spend all this $$$$ on a dang computer jsut to see what poo WB be flinging everyday. I need that extra $$$$$$ for boat gas, as the Florida crappie aint far from spawning.
hehehe you know thats one perk about being in school in Florida, they spawn in Feb and then when I gert home for Spring break and Easter, I get to fish the Ms pre, spawn, and post. I will admit though I do like trolling etc... in sippi so I do miss out on alot
Personally, I thought my bamboo idea was a good 'un and I'm miffed that you didn't appreciate the effort.
