2007 20/72 F & F Boat - 115 Tohatsu TLDI Trailer

Okay guys, I've decided to upgrade to an even bigger and faster boat. My current Crappie Yaght is for sale:

My plan is to upgrade to a longer tunnel hull with pods and a 150hp motor. I want to make my brother in law eat my wake in his fancy Sea Ray cruiser this summer, otherwise, my new boat will be identical.

Flaws of boat:
Normal wear and tear/scratches from fishing Reelfoot. Thsi boat has never broken ice and has never been duck hunted.
Hit a stump on October 10, 2008 and have to fix three small cracked welds. Insurance is processing claim and I will have them fixed locally prior to delivery. Anticipate getting McBrides to do the repair.
The Lower Unit has very small piece broken from lower unit. Was done same to the other lower unit as the back of the boat slid down off of a stump fall fishing. I fixed it the first time and that is why I have the extra unit. It is above the water line when the motor is running and does not impact performance at all. The extra lower unit is probably around a 2K value to have if you ever have lower unit mechanical problems in the future after the warranty runs out. This motor is a powerhorse while still running quietly with excellent fuel and oil consumption. For those who don't know Tohatsu, Tohatsu is Nissan and also produces many motors for Mercury.
I bought this whole rig new in April 2007 and I love it.

Is it the same kind of boat that Mark Pierce uses? I know most 20' F&F boats have a high front deck. I must say that for the size of the boat and all you are selling with it, it seems like a fantastic price. If you could pm me a pic or two of the boat i can pass the word around b/c i know a few people who are looking for a nice fishing/hunting boat that are not members of this site.

I appreciate the feedback. It really is a great boat. As I said in the post, it has normal scratches from wear/tear. If you fish Reelfoot or anywhere, you know that will happen. I grew up duck hunting (haven't missed a season since 1974) and I am generally pretty tough on gear, but this is the nicest piece of equipment I have ever had. My wife gets really agitated b/c she says I pay more attention to it than our house. I drive a $500.00 truck. But I will not take this boat duck hunting. Duck hunting is just so hard on equipment. We've got a couple clunkers to duck hunt in.

As to the deck, that was a real lesson I learned with my first boat, a 16foot duracraft. It had a high deck and when I bought it I though, "Hey, that will be great for fishing." boy was I wrong. In the end, I took it to a metal shop in South Fulton and had the whole front deck cut out. Then I went back in and put in a plywood deck dropped to the right level. That high deck problem is my main complaint with almost all other boat makers. War Eagle does have a good drop deck now, but others, like G3's and Sea Arks look perched up like crows nests to me. If you fish all day, that step down will and high center of gravity is tough.

When I designed this boat that was my biggest concern. I wanted to fish 3 in the front and I wanted to be low and way to the front. This boat was designed similar to the F & F flat bottoms that are open all the way to the front. When I fish in the front seat row, I am about 2 feet from the bow point. With 16 foot rods placed a foot in front of that, you can really get out there. That may seem insignificant, but, it is vital if you fish the shallow water. I fish the North end as much as possible and I will tell you that it makes a tremendous difference in the bite.

Ill get some pics, but the boat will probably be full of my fishing stuff and not washed and waxed, can't unload it while the fishing is hot!!!! I will try to get my pics resized and post. PM me with your direct email, thats easier with the pics.

BTW, with the extra LU, 2 SS props, hydralic jack plate, electric anchor, and warranty left on the motor, I'd say at 15.3, you're leaving 4K on the table. THAT is a serious, serious boat that'll make a War Eagle or Xpress cower in the corner and call for their mommy.

So to answer your question, no, it's not a good aye carumba, it's a holy cow that's flippin' awesome aye carumba.

Wannabee is right on the money. I sold my 17' F&F to fo to a bigger 20' War Eagle. I also have owned another War Eagle in the past. In my opinion the F&F is one of the finest boats built and even though I like my War Eagle alot, the F&F was better built. THIS LOOKS LIKE A HECK OF A DEAL for someone and I would be all over it if I would not of just got my WarEagle rigged and ready to go. Good luck with your sale.
