Welcome to the site. I've fished Conway a little over the years and can tell you from what i've seen it's a fairly shallow lake for the most part. I've seen some water around 12ft deep around the Gold Creek area but other than that I can't help much. Bates field and stream (bait shop) in Mayflower on Hwy 89 might have a map.
I Have been fishing conway for thirty plus years, 12' to 14' is the deepest waters in the lake. There aint a whole lot of it left due to heavy silt accumulations. I will tell you where the deepest holes are at, in dicks creek there is spots in the creek channel that hold 10' plus feet, greens lake is another spot, adams lake area is 10' to 14' as well, The gold lake area is 12'to 14' and willemena cove up in gold creek is 10 to 12 feet deep. Greens lake, Adams lake, and Gold lake are lakes that were taken in when conway lake was created.:):)
Been fishing the Lake since the late 70's...ALOT has changed over the years....but...for what its worth...average deep is 5'-6", but silt has been filling in the lake over the years in the north end, Deep holes at Gold lake and the channel, 89 bridge...as metioned around 12' deep.
In the Spring, Fish the Green Cypress on the shade side that are in small groups close to boat trails or in middle of lake, and log jams along the east side north of Adams landing that is now a Ark Game Com. landing, and any docks along the west side of lake. Greens lake area is good in spring fishing the thick trees...The docks across from Paradise landing used to be Bream hot spots...AT Pierce Creek launch...go straight out and fish cypress in middle and the the far north shore log jams and cuts-ins along bank....good bass fishing here too, use a stick type rouge jerk bait, have caught biggin's there.
The lake is filled with stumps...only run in the boat lanes...they are well marked now (red/green reflectors on poles).
Black and Char. tube jigs have always worked very good in the spring...if you pitch along docks..you can catch blue gills and some crappie along shade of docks. used to wear the out doing this...and had a nice mess of mixed pan fish.
Winter used to fish 89 bridge and caught many a slab there, fishing right off the bottom with white/char. tubes...in the 2-3lb range, with the biggest going 3.2, 18 1/2"' on the wall. The shad moved out years ago..and nobody fishes it anymore...not sure what happened. Been meaning to try again there.
When the bugs hatch in april...Bream fishing with a Fly rod using poppers has been a blast....or the ole DanaMax bream jigs...the Patton company now make s this jigs...but the blue gills are not as big as in years past.
The hottest place on the lake is the gold creek area now a days...if you can walk over the boats...
If I had my drothers...I would go a little futher up the highway to Overcup in the spring...it reminds me of how Conway was in the 80's...very good bream and Crappie.
fishing was slow for most folks today.1 man did get a limit nice fish ,3 others had 4 -10 fish.4th day of at least catching, the rain coming in should even help.
