Favorite Hushpuppy Recipe

Just wanted to see what your favorite hushpuppy recipe is.
Here is mine.

2 cups white cornmeal
1 cup flour
1 egg
1 can creamed corn
1 medium onion (chopped)
salt & pepper to taste
diced jalapeno
Add just enough milk to blend together for desired consistancy. (sorry I don't ever measure the milk)
I use a table spoon to dip my with.

Are you using self rising flour? Your recipe doesn't show any baking soda or baking powder.

I would like to try your recipe. Is the corn meal and the flour both self risiing? I know it will make a difference.

Yes, both are self rising.

we have a thread on Recipes there with some GOOD stuff.There are people that came to the Spring Camp last year that said they didn't like hushpuppies, they tried mine and they loved 'em.

here's my favorite:

House Autry brand hush puppy mix with onions
cream corn
canned crab meat
diced jalepenos

follow the directions on the mix then add all the other ingredients to your liking and to get the desired consistency.
