Now I tied this last April experimenting with making my own dubbing out of mink and some flash I picked up around my tying area that had been cut off other jigs when tied. This is a 1/32 #8 Sickle hook. Just used some scrap feathers as I keep most of the scraps from feathers I use tying just for things like this. I believe this dog will hunt!

I like it...have you fished it yet? Which dubbing method do you like best?
Have not got it wet at all actually, LOL! Since I tie on the Nor-vise dubbing is a good bit different with it, but before that I used a dubbing loop to tie them. With a Nor it is easier to do dubbing. You should look at the videos they have on the Nor. You probably will not believe it. However if you decide you want a Nor Vise you better get your pocket book ready as they are a good bit higher than most.Quote:

Two things I do not do well at all. One is dub and the other is hackle. I practise on both of them now and then. Have yet to tie anything that I would care to fish.
But if I lived near Toledo Bend I know where I would go for lessons looking at that jig.
I like that jig. Skip you tie some real nice jigs. If that was peenk and yeller I would lock it in my gun safe!

That is a buggy looking jig for sure. Like how the mink really fluffs out or seems to anyway. Once you put it in water let us know how well the fluffiness stays. Should be a lunker killer if it stays full bodied like it is dry.
Great looking jig! Dubbed jigs have worked great for me this past summer. I used Ice Dub though that mink looks really nice and soft. Still working on my dubbing collection mostly have antron or rabbit or a mix of the two in my collection right now.
