beaver lake tail water - trying to get my kid on trout

Sorry - did not see an off topic.

I am considering taking my 8 year old trout fishing this weekend. Anyone with a fishing report? We don't fly fish but would appriciate any tips or suggestions.

Take the kid to Dry Run Creek below the dam at Lake Norfork.

It is loaded with fish.

The only people who can fish there are kids under 16 and handicap people.

Single barbless hook. Catch and release.

Trout magnet jig usually works great. Crimp the barb with pliers.

Last time I took my kids, my son caught about 60 trout.

I think WM in Mountain Home may have them. Not sure.

I have always had good luck fishing near Spider Creek below Beaver Dam. Light action rod and some yellow power eggs good way to get a young one hooked on Trout! Good inexpensive motels in nearby Eureka Springs! Got me interestedin a trip now! Good luck and have fun!

When I stay on the river, I always go to Norfork River Resort. Norfork River Resort for lodging, float trips, & trout fishing

Good guides and clean cabins. Mountainveiw and all of the Folk music stuff is about 45 minuets away. Blanchard Springs caverns is in the area too.
