I dont think my choke is working. When I push the choke in it makes a clicking sound but I dont think its working. Is there a soliniod(spelling) that could have gone bad that would make a clicking noise? Thanks guys

Yes they will make a clicking noise, but you can check it easily enough to see if it's working. Just remove the motor cover and look in the throat of the carb then activate it. If the butterfly opens and closes it does what it's supposed to do. Hope this will help.Quote:

Yes you have an enrichner (primer solenoid). They are usually located on the port side near the carbs. Disconnect the output tube going to the carbs and direct it to a jar or someting to catch the gas. Then have someone turn the key on and push it in. If it is working properly fuel will come out in squirts (not a steady stream).
I think I found the enricher, havnt took the line off yet but will tomorow. There looks like a small on/off valve on the top, What is it for? does it turn off the fuel from the enricher to the carb?
That red valve is your manual enricher.
Is this an electric start or pull start? And are you having trouble starting? I have a 93 model 25 Evinrude and its a bear to start(pull start). Turn the throttle all the way off and observe the choke flap. It should be in the closed position. Now if you pump your fuel line bulb or use the primimg pump too much it will flood. Now this is a pain in the butt. What kind of trouble are you having?
My 97 Johnny had a blockage in the port from the solenoid to the intake. Solenoid worked when disconnected from carb and gave no fuel into carb port when connected. Small piece of wire would clear it.
