HB 798si
I got a question about mine and was wondering if anyone else has had issues.I bought a brand new one back in May used it a few times and then it got to not turning on and the screen would freeze up.I sent it back to the company they was wonderful and sent me another one back within 3 days. Now the problem is doing it on the one I got to replace my other one.I checked all my wires again to make sure there aint no loose wires and then also put another unit head on and it worked fine.Is this common for these to do that?:oI know I got $1200 tied up in it and I have hated it ever since I got it.Thought maybe it would actually so the proper depth when running but it dont do that either.I have moved the transducer several times to try and see if that is what is the matter.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Temporarily run a pair of wires from your starting battery straight to the unit and try it. You may have some bad wire somewhere and this will double check it. 16 gauge will be fine.

I have rigged them both ways. But if you think about it how much stuff is run off of your fuse block and could create a voltage drop that could make to unit freeze. You could try another battery or try what IBNFSHN is suggesting. I have seen a couple of guys try this and it fixed there problem.
