Looking for something I don't have to worry about keeping refridgerated or keeping it alive or from dying...ie worms and mealworms. Want something to tip 1/64th oz gill jigs to help catch a few for bait... Any ideas? Have some crappie nibbles, would they work?
Also since I'm catfishing while I want to catch them, would a tiny piece of shad flesh or tiny piece of chicken liver help?
yes they work but maybe check out some of the plastics made in the DIY plastics thread they work well.

I would love to mess with plastics but don't wanna invest the money...
The nibbles will work and those gulp maggots or waxworms will also work. But they dont always work for me. I've had some very good days using the waxworms and then couldn't catch a cold using them on another day fishing all over the lake. Go figure.:rolleyes:
The gulp ascots or maggots work great for me, no more worm dirt or sawdust in my boat and I rebait a lot less. I haven't noticed any difference in the numbers caught.
Nibbles and wax worms are great tippers. So is cut shrimp from Wally World.
Hey Smooth I have these. 1 inch and 1.25 inches. Good size for tipping. Can work you out a bulk pricing deal and make them in lots of colors. These are on 1/32 heads and #6 hook.

I even use these tail on a snelled hook with a piece of worm for more action and cant keep the fish off of them. Check them out at Jiggin Joe's Hand Tied Jigs hes a sponsor and can hook you up.
I have very good luck using Berkley Gulp Earthworm pieces tipped on my jig hooks. They are a lot tougher than real worm and get bit real well. I never go Gillin without them. My boy and I use a lot of them.
