Check out tacklemaking.com - they have all kinds of reference charts including a color mixing chart. You can get a color wheel at most paint stores.
Thanks guys
Bob,
Just some quick info. On any powder paint colors you mix you will never get a true pigment. If you mix 2 tsps of blue and 2 tsps of yellow, you will get a shade of green. Not a solid green. In my experience you can get some interesting colors this way, but your color will never be true, it will be close though. (ie.... if for some reason even with measuring, you get too much yellow, and the blue packs down better than it did last time, you will be a shade off). All of this seems trivial, and probably doesn't matter, but just so you know. Anyway also, keep good detailed records of your ratios, that is very important for future duplication.
PS..................Your powder paint is going in the mail today.
More tips for mixing;
To darken the mix - add black or to lighten the mix - add white.
Fluid bed makes a good mixer.
thank you cad man I replied to your e-mail today looking forward in getting the powder paint and thank you for the information on mixing.
ledhed thank you for the information.
I've had the best success with lightening colors with white....not so much blending 2 or 3 regular colors. Not too many I want, really. It gives some nice effects but you get tiny little flakes of each color, not like a mixed liquid paint.
smoothlures thank you for your information.
