Trolling Motor Advice
I'm looking into getting a new trolling motor. My major concern is the play in the trolling motor. I do a lot of trolling and if there is the slightest bit of current and my foot comes off the pedal, its spins around and I'm going backwards. What is the most reasonably priced (can't afford the wireless system) 24 volt system that I can get so that I can take my foot off the pedal and not worry about getting off track.
Thanks,
Ken

Depends on the brand/model but you should have a tension adjustment on the foot pedal if it's a cable steer. This can tighten up enough to stop that spinning around when your foot isn't on the pedal. Hand models have a tension adjustment also. Tighten 'er up and that's the most economical way to go.

The most common cause of the motor wanting to spin is a bent shaft. They can be replaced.

A Minnkota V-2 will solve your problem. Plus you can always add the new i-Pilot later.

Power Drive will be the best and cheapest choice like IBFSHN I got a great deal on a #55 if you didnt have to have a 24V model

I have the MK Maxxum 70# 24vt m. It does have an adjustment to add tension.I bought it used and I like it. Some of the fellows around here tell me the auto jobs can cause you to break some rod tips.
