Long-line limit
Xmas came a few days early this year! This limit of Central FL slabs was achieved via slow-trolling 1/32 and 1/16 oz. jigs with curly tails. The hot color of the day was Blk.head/white & green body/silver tail w/no meat. Using 1 #7 split shot 18" up @.9 - 1.0 gps speed. Water temp was 63 degrees and the fish measured from 11- 14" and varied depths from 12 - 20 feet of water. 4 lb hi-vis line(Mr Crappie) was used with about 40 feet from tip. Most fish fought real hard and the roe was really well-developed. Sorry can't divulge the location due to "sworn to secrecy" clause in contract:cool:
Good luck, seasons greetings to all

am looking forward to trolling(slow, fast, longline???) but haven't used curly tail. Is there a particular manufacturer of the tails that you like? it's almost like hair jigs or tubes with 100s to choose from. Thanks for the info and catch a bunch.--shu

Hi Shu- Sorry for the late response, but as you know, I just did a 9 day stay at Talquin. Fishin' had much to be desired, just ask Chuck Auten, but did manage a few fish w/the biggest at 15 1/4"(2.2 lbs.) I like Southern Pro curly tails.
Good fishin'
Doug
