I have been tying jigs for around 7 or 8 months now and was curious to know what you all think of a red jig head. I've never tried it but am thinking of doing so with gray and chart feathers. Would appreciate your thoughts or experiences.

They claim that red shows better in deeper water.?
from everything i read red fades out around 3-8ft...thats what the box reads on cajain red line...but what do i know
I have had the best luck w/ flo.Fire Org. at depths of 2' and 4' in late summer through early fall.after that ,i forget red! Its blk/silv./gold/tan/yel./drk grns./glow wht./and glow blue on occasions"gave red its fair shake long ago"and that's what it proved for me here on the eastern shore of md...my $0 .02;)

I like candy red on the bottom of some of my three-tone heads to imitate blood or gills. I catch fish with them but don't know if it's from the red or being in the right place and depth where the fish are holding.

ty i like it i hand mixed the head color theres a lil pear flash in it and sometimes i use uv peal in it and my 2nd best jig is a grey grey grey and red with some uv pear flash
Nice lookin jig. Red jig heads have been around a long time.
