Yup I have used it. So far except for a few special jigs I would rather build body with thread or uni-stretch. It will make some nice looking jigs though,
I use some similar-looking stuff called EZ Braid...

it's the pearl underbody
For putting over under body material I love the stuff. For making those hollow bodies, I hate it. Works really well over chenille and rows of beads.
Have some and just have not used it, but have wanted to. Just need to figure a better way than what I have though of so far. I want a better way to attach each end of that stuff before I get after it. I have just been too busy with other tying.
Also have a bunch of different kinds of braid and other body material like that. Has caught fish with some pretty good results. One of my Pro Staff uses some braid material I have and did very well with it on little jigs (1/32 with #6 & #8 Hooks.
All this kind of material looks very good with plenty of color and flash.

The ones on the left is done over pony beads. Didn't turn out too bad, not that good but not too bad. The other one is done the way the showed to do the mustad minnow and I can not get it to work anywhere near as well as the video. Is the best one I have gotten so far. I think if you find the right beads you can make any shape under it you want. If you can find soft beads then it has a more natural feel and could work even better. Maybe even use beads and hot glue, the possibilities are pretty much endless to get the shape you really want.
These are done with Mylar, with the Pearl E-Z body you could use clear beads instead of solid like I used.
Have a dentist friend who gave me a small battery operated do-hickey that is used to cauterize. Pinpoint accuracy. Wonder if I can use it to seal the ends around the hook shank. Also, has anyone ever tried that electrical shrink wrap tubing to conform around beads/body?
fish how about using a part of a soild body tube or curly tail and using it....you can cut that soft plastic any shape you would like and you prob. got some laying around...
I don't see why not, could even use power bait grubs or other plastics with scent and have an instant scented jig that should give scent off for a long time. Only thing that might happen could be the plastic whatever begins to degrade or something and ruins the jig.
OKstate, what did you put under the mylar in that one?
Both good ideas; I was thinking the transluscent tubing would give it some depth, but I guess there are plenty of plastics out there that would do the trick.
