For anyone that uses their bodkin with paint and glue

I have one bodkin that I keep really messy and I clean it by heating it and sticking it into a bodkin cleaner. You can buy these already made, but they are so easy to make I am not sure why one wouldn't just make theirs.

I am diabetic so I use the little strips to test blood sugar and most people will know someone that also uses these. Just get one from your self or someone you know and heat the bodkin and stick it through the top to make a hole. Then fill it tight or stuff it really full with coarce steel wool and you have one made.

Then any time you need to clean your bodkin just heat it and stick it in this little cleaner and up and down until it's clean and you are done.

I have been using that idea for a while. I used to heat mine over a candle flame and then use fine sandpaper on it. That works too.

Nice! I was wondering what I could do with my test strip container I knew they could be good for something I just wasn't sure what to use them for!

Sweet idea indeed! I've always kept an exacto-knife nearby and then just quickly scraped the tip to clean it off.
