Some nice, well-made jigs.

Redear here on the VA Forum tied these for me, I am bigtime happy with em and can hardly wait to fish em.

I dont wanna hear nuthin about endorsing anyone or any crybaby stuff. A trip thru memory lane reveals I have bought jigs from no less than 14 people on here to date and if you aint one of em hang tight, you no doubt will be.
When I see nice work I like to say so. If I were to ever get any that were inferior I would just not say anything.
These look well-made and I have no doubt they are with me for the duration.

horseshoer, thanks for the kind words, that makes me feel good all over.to the guys in business selling jigs, don't worry bout me taking any business from ya, cause I just basically keep a well stocked personal stash, and if any freinds need some, they come from that stash. I probably average 3-4 jigs a day when I tie, just for something to do. Put a minnow on those things shoer, or a worm, if you are fishing for bream and such.

I tie some kip tail jigs, but can't seem to tie one on yet and I do plan on trying them next spring when I get a good chance. I am planning on making sure I got fishing a few time a week no matter what.

As for you taking business away from someone I wouldn't worry about that. I would never begrudge someone from buying what they want or the tier selling what he wants. If anyone is counting on making a living tying then more power to them, but I can't make any money doing this so like I said I wouldn't worry about that.

redear have you tried any with Lt. Blue and Chart or FL yellow combination's? I think it should work well for you. I would also try some Hot Orange tails and for a natural color I have become intrigued with Root Beer in kip tails and want to use some like that.

It's kind of hard seeing the details from the picture, but is the body all just thread? If it is maybe you should try some small crystal antron for the body as it has it's own little flash and last really well.

Now I am not saying there is anything wrong with what you tied, but just some ideas of things you can add if you want.

My fishing is what paid the price this year, but that is not happening next year and that I know.

I have gone to leavin the minnows at home Redear last cpl yrs. Those babies will work just fine as is!

skip, I do have some lt. blue hair, but havent used it much. I'll have to try those combos you mentioned. the head is shaped like a narrow football, and there is a collar behind it with a little lip at the back. I try to tie these things like the old timers told me to, cause like I said they have been using them forever. there is no body, just a thread neck, which I cover with paint most of the times. I select the right size hair clump, and even it up a little, then lay it on top of the jighead without trimming the hair to length. wrap over the hair 6-7 times kinda loose, and then push down on the hair clump, while supporting the head, and start moving the hair around the collar on both sides of the head, till the hair meets underneath the head. this hair is moving around underneath the loose thread wraps. add a few more wraps, and start pulling the straggly hairs out, as well as finish evening the thickness of the hair all around. when you like the look of the hair, pinch the hair with thumb and index finger to keep it where its at, and unwrap the thread all the way till ya have no wraps on the hair. wind the bobbin back up, and start rewrapping the thread on the hair, right where the collar meets the back of the head, 10 or so wraps with 220 denier flat wax nylon wrapped hard, I take a single edge razor blade and trim the hair just in front of the thread, using the head as a backstop. then using a thin superglue, put some on the exposed hair where you just cut it, now wrap over top of the cut ends, and up onto the back of the head. making the shape flow.

here lately I have been tying some with gray thread to match the lead head, and then just clear coat the head and thread, this will give the jig some flash with that silver looking lead head. haven't used them yet tho, but they gotta work, just looks to good not to. lol

Thanks for asking, but could use some healing on my feet for sure. Lost the last week or more with Doctors and other things getting in my way.
