we have alot of them this year and arent going to make any jelly . i found a recipe for the syrup on a site and wondered if anyone has ever used this on anything, they say it is for pancakes, or you can glaze it over pork or a brisket and smoke it. any one ever try this.
i would like to have the recipe i will try it.
it takes 1 and 1/2 cups muscadine juice, 1 and 1/4 cups sugar, 1/3 cup corn syrup, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. combine all in sauce pan, bring to boil, stirring constantly, let boil at full boil for 2 minutes and skim foam off top. can in a water bath for later use. it really looks like jam to me, but tastes great

Man, I would kill to have a bucket full of dines...a buddy of mine from Ga. got me hooked on them when he lived up here...THEY ARE ADDICTING!!!

I haven't tried muscadine syrup but I've tried pecan syrup and it was great. Last week end we drove to Moselle MS to Ashmore Vineyards and pick 30 pounds of them golden ones. They were at their ripest and tasted like wine. I put them up in the freezer and will take some out as needed.
me and my wife have gotten rid of all our cows and are going to start putting up trellaces and filling our field with muscadines when the leaves are gone
