About this time next month I''ll be on my annual Pocomoke River fishing and camping trip.
I normally target bass, but sometimes we get the urge to Crappie fish too.
So what do you think? Fish deeper? Shallower?
I figured they'll likely be holding to cover still and maybe around the outskirts of the lilly pads *or what's left of them)
Think Beetlespins will work well?
I have always fished that river in winter , but I would try deep holes out of the current and in the shade of the pads as well. Been crabbing alot but when we have gone crappie fishing in the hotter weather this summer in an old sand pit lake we fish we caught some deep and some right in the pads. Gonna try to get some this fri. evening.
Forgot to mention in the last reply , we consider cooler water like 38 or 40 , but I guess it is cooler then it was in Augest.

Hey spot77 a freind of my said he use'd to catch crappie in there with beetle spins so it might be worth a try.

They must've been fishing from shore because I could easily pick them from the trees. :D
I usually just throw a small jig under a bobber in shallow water and have pretty good luck, but that's always in the springtime.
