I bought a reconditioned terrova 12volt 48in with copilot & autopilot and love it. Takes a bit to get used to it but great product and no problems from reconditioned unit.
I have a motorguide wireless and if i had to do it all over i wouldnt have got a wireless.It works fine theres nothing wrong with it. I just dont like the speed settings, its a pain to mount a transducer, if u get one and plan on having a locator on the fron of ur boat get one thats already has the sonar in it. The beeping gets old after a while. Its my fault though should have researched them a little more when i bought mine. It does hav some advantages though. Front deck not cluttered up with cables and foot pedal and a few other things.
I have two boats with the MK Terrova with autopilot and copilot and they both have the built-in transducer. These trolling motors will spoil you. It's like having another person in the boat running the motor for you.
I have a mk. 55lb. autopilot power drive v2 it is great for trolling just set it
and go to fishing like they said its likesomeone guiding for you, you can also turn it with your hand its like two units in one.
Just got the Motor Guide hand held variable speed and love it. I do a lot of spider rigging and like to be able to use my hand held.
I fish from a stick steer. The foot control that came with the boat was really a pain. I opted for a tiller. Don't remember the model; but, it is the biggest 12 volt Minkota had at the time. I have to have an extension for the controls and installed a "Big Foot" go button. I will never go back to foot controll again.

I have the Terrova AP/US2, with copilot. Really like it. Can't wait for the ipilot addon.
I have a bum knee, so it is very hard for me to constantly stand and press on a foot pedal, wish I had a hand held tiller. To solve my problem of the foot pedal moving around on the bow, I turned it sideways and bolted it to the front of the bow. Now I can sat and operate it with both feet and never have to worry about it sliding around, but of course I have it mounted in the center of the bow, it works great and I think a lot better than standing up or trying to regulate the speed.Quote:
