Over half of 'em were really decent sized crappie. These were from lake Whittington which is another Mississippi river oxbow lake just north of Lake Ferguson. There's LOTS of 'em! Some are river fed and some not. Attachment 31484 Same pattern as my last post. That 'ole man river has got a 4' rise on. Got more than a foot of it last night. Slowed the bite down some. I may wait till it steadies out some b4 I try a river fed lake again. :D

Trolling jigs....Generally speaking, the better size fish are suspended in deep water this time of the year. I've always been told that the better size crappie (+12 inches and up) spend 95% of their time in open and deep water.Quote:
