From where to where do you measure the length of a trolling motor shaft? I have a chance to get a new trolling motor at a really good price but I am not sure if the shaft will be long enough. Can anyone help me on this?

I have always just measured the shaft itself. In other words from the bottom of the head to the top of the motor.
That is the proper way to measure from what I have been told.Quote:
