Ruined another one
I have been putting on a fishfry for a family reunion the last couple of years. After so much non-fishing duties the wife has gave me the go ahead to spend every available moment to get enough fish this year for some time in October. This year, I am taking nephews that do not get many oportunities to go fishing. I think they will have great pride in watching the family eat fish they caught.
I took one to Degray this weekend. He is 15 and his Dad just don't care for fishing that much. He didn't like the idea of casting out the Bandits and just sitting and watching. But, when he pulled the first big crappie in, I think he was hooked too. He caught 3 more fish before I caught my first one. We caught a smorgishboard; 2 crappie, 3 bass, 1 chain pickeral, and 2 catfish (a channel and a flathead). We were using 300's (pearl black back and baby bass) in about 25' of water. We ended up with 1/2 gallon of fillets. On the way back, he asked me where he could sell all of his spinner baits so he could get some Bandits.

Nothing like leaving a legacy, buddy!
I too, was on DeGray this week-end but didn't have the luck you had. We DID see a beautiful (is there any other kind) male bald eagle and some huge whitetail bucks on the way back to the houlse.
But...the lake and the weather were just barely perfect. We ran the bandits off of point 14 for a time. I finally got my depth finder back from Lowrance (for the third time) and marked a few good brush piles, so all was not lost.

Marking those brush piles is an added benefit. I marked some that should be real good this fall and winter. I still need to get a map so i can tell you where I fish.
