Free Boat Registration?
Any of you read the article in GON this month about the mixup with the folks in Missouri that are handling the boat registration? I think it was a three or four month period around the end of last year and a little over 18,000 registrations were processed, decals sent out but they never processed the credit card.....Sounds like Missouri is probably gonna try and recoup their money if they can find the folks who didn't get charged so be on the lookout.....Georgia DNR got their money so the State's not out any funds....I think it's a pretty darn funny since they are charging so much to do this....Total money was over $600,000 if I remember right!

yep, I bet they will find a way to recover at least some of the money

That thing is a mess, maybe they'll get it straight, course it has always been a little messed up. I expected something like double billing folks and coming in with a 600,000 dollar bonus. LOL Maybe next year on that.

They are working on it. I got a letter in the mail about mine, and I looked back and they really did not charge me, There was a way I had to re submit payment.

I just recieved mine in the mail today(renewal bill).Looks like we will be sending our money north to Ga.Boat Registration Unit , 1 Technology Dr. Frostburg MD. So I guess Missouri lost there bid, and money.I don't remember what I payed last time but they want $44 this time. They get us every way we turn.

I think the folks in Missouri have turned the money collecting over to another company if I remember correctly....
-
44 to register a boat? Dang thats rough but I guess you got to do it. Ours here in Ms is rated according to the size of your boat. I think we pay 10-15 bucks a piece for a ll 3 of ours

I got message too
I got an email notification from the same company telling me that my paperwork had been properly processed and the decal mailed out. However there was a "problem" processing my credit card and asked for that info again.
I figured it was a internet phishing scam of some sort with the culprits attempting to rip me off. So, I ignored it.
I've not received anything in the mail box. When I do, I'll consider sending them money but I'll double check with my credit card company first.
You know, they tell you to order your registration online and then you get a confirmation that the billing info has been accepted by the credit card company. Then weeks later, the company sends you the creditials for your boat.
Seems to me if there was a problem in the processing of payment, they would have known about it during the time the paperwork was being processed. Which led me to believe that this internet request for my credit card info was a hoax.
